A CoinPayments alternative

CoinPayments supports 40+ cryptocurrencies; blockwallets charges 1% per payment, dropping automatically to 0.5% with last month’s volume, supports fewer coins (17) and has no CoinPayments-compatible API, so switching means integrating our API, usually two pieces of code: create a payment and verify the webhook.

Coins and networks17 coins (USDT, USDC, USD1, FDUSD, DAI, BTC, LTC, DOGE, BCH, TRX, BNB, ETH, POL, AVAX, OKB, SOL and TON) on 15 networks; USDT, USDC and other stablecoins are credited 1:1 in US dollars40+ cryptocurrencies
Where the money sitsPayments are credited in US dollars to your blockwallets balance; you request withdrawals to your own wallet whenever you like, or set them to be requested automatically (minimum $10.00; each is reviewed by a person, and a new payout address waits 24 hours before its first payout). Online servers hold only a read-only public key (xpub); the keys that move funds are used only in a signing environment isolated from the online services. Sweeps only go to fixed cold-wallet addresses; payouts to merchants are approved by a person and only go to the merchant’s registered withdrawal addressCustodial: the website states custodial wallet services are provided by PaidInSatoshi Inc., Centauri Pay LLC or their partners, with funds held in segregated custody

TestingSeparate test credentials on public testnets; the payment page has a “simulate payment” button, so the whole flow costs nothingThe integration guide covers a sandbox environment and test currencies

Which to pick

Who each one suits.

Pick blockwallets if

  • You want a public tiered rate that drops automatically to 0.5% with volume
  • You mostly take USDT and USDC and want dollar accounting with free withdrawals
  • You care that the keys able to move funds never sit on an internet-facing server
  • You’d rather not write code: payment links only need an amount in the dashboard

CoinPayments suits you better if

  • You need more coins: CoinPayments lists 40+, we support 17
  • You don’t want to touch your CoinPayments integration: we have no compatible API
  • You need a ready-made e-commerce plugin such as WooCommerce: we have none yet, so it’s the API or payment links
  • You need to go live today: we are in private beta

Switching

Switch over in five steps.

  1. Request access; once approved, generate a merchant and API key under “Developers › Integration & keys” (one set each for test and live)
  2. No code: create a payment link in the dashboard and share it or put it on your site; you can take payments from here
  3. To automate: call POST /v1/payment (amount + your order ID) at checkout and send the customer to the returned payment page link
  4. When the webhook arrives, verify its signature with your API key and fulfil by order_id; one order_id always maps to one bill, so retries never double-charge
  5. Run it once on testnets with the test credentials (press “simulate payment” on the payment page), then switch to live

Endpoints and signature code in several languages: integration docs.

blockwallets has compatible APIs for Cryptomus, NOWPayments and Coinbase Commerce, plus a native REST API and no-code payment links: every way to integrate.

FAQ

Questions.

Can blockwallets replace CoinPayments?

If you mainly take USDT, USDC and major coins, yes. We have no CoinPayments-compatible API, though: you integrate our API, or start with no-code payment links.

How much work is switching?

An API integration is usually two pieces of code: create a payment to get a payment page link, then verify the webhook and fulfil. Our API matches Cryptomus, so examples are easy to find, including in AI coding tools.

How do the fees compare?

blockwallets charges 1% per payment, lowered by last month’s volume to 0.9% from $50,000, 0.8% from $100,000, 0.7% from $250,000, 0.6% from $500,000 and 0.5% from $1,000,000. The same public table applies to every merchant. For CoinPayments’ current rates, see their own website.

Which coins are supported?

USDT, USDC, USD1, FDUSD, DAI, BTC, LTC, DOGE, BCH, TRX, BNB, ETH, POL, AVAX, OKB, SOL and TON, on 15 networks: TRON, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Base, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, X Layer, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Solana and TON. USDT, USDC and other stablecoins count 1:1 as US dollars; other coins are converted at a rate locked for 30 minutes.

Can I try it before deciding?

Yes. Test mode has its own credentials on public testnets, and the payment page has a “simulate payment” button. It costs nothing.
